A major fire damaged six shops at a market inside the Safwan border crossing with Kuwait in Iraq’s southern Basra province on Wednesday, a Civil Defense source told Shafaq News.
Firefighters contained the blaze before it spread to neighboring properties, and no injuries were reported. Preliminary findings identified an electrical short circuit as the likely cause.
