Residents sue the Erbil government

Shafaq News / Dozens of people gathered on Thursday in front of the Presidency of Erbil Court in Kurdistan Region, condemning the local government for not delivering services to "8 Hisarok" neighborhood.

The protesters announced filing a lawsuit against the local government in Erbil for neglecting the motioned neighborhood for the past years, even though the lands of the neighborhood are legal and registered in the Land Registry in the Real Estate Registration Department.

The protesters said “ we are paying fees to the government for buying and selling lands in "8 Hisarok neighborhood ", but so far the services have not reached it.

The protesters demanded Kurdistan Regional Government to intervene and solve the problem that they suffer from, stressing that all of them have a limited income and have been strained by the rental fees they pay because of their inability to build in their lands in the neighborhood.
