Masrour Barzani recalls February 1 attack: It targeted values and diversity in Kurdistan
Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani considered on Saturday, the attack of February1 as an attack that targeted values and diversity in Kurdistan.
"Today we salute the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred on February 1, 2004 in Erbil. This was an attack on Kurdistan, against the values and diversity that we hold," Barzani said in a Twitter post.
"We remember those who lost their families, we remind ourselves of the importance of unity," Barzani added.
Today, Saturday, Kurdistan commemorated the 16th anniversary of the February 1 incident, which occurred on the first day of Eid al-Adha, when "terrorists" targeted by suicide bombings in Erbil, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
Today, the ceremony to revive the accident took place, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government , Masrour Barzani and a large number of government and party officials in Sami Abdul Rahman Park in the city of Erbil.
At the time, more than 100 officials and civilians were killed and about 250 others were injured.
