Kurdistan Region delegation agrees with Baghdad to form a supreme committee to solve the accumulated problems

Shafaq News / The head of Kurdistan Regional Government’s delegation to Baghdad, and Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources , Bikard Talabani announced on Sunday that the delegation reached an agreement with the federal government to form a joint high committee to deal with the accumulated problems.

Talabani said in a joint press conference held with Federal Minister of Agriculture Saleh Al-Hassani that the latter assured us that he would not accept any distinction between the farmers of the region and their peers from the rest of the provinces of Iraq.

She added that "in order to solve the problems that affected the farmers in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, we agreed to expedite the formation of a joint higher committee and to serve the agricultural sector in Iraq and the region."

A delegation from the region arrived earlier this morning to the capital Baghdad to discuss the unpaid Kurdish farmers' dues, which amount to more than 500 billion dinars in addition to the issue of dams and other issues.
