Kurdistan alliance condemns Bedaiwi’s assassination

The statement of the bloc received by “Shafaq News” , said that “ Kurdistan Alliance condemns "strongly" shooting the journalist Mohammed Bedaiwi al-Shammari " which led to his martyrdom ," stressing that this shooting him is a violation of the law and regulations of military action.

He added that this is a " reckless " action that should not in any way turn into "an issue that would harm the Kurdish -Arab brotherhood ."

The statement attributed condoles to the journalist 's family , his clan and students , expressing regret at the attempt by some to " ride the wave of discontent over this criminal act to climb to leadership positions and turning this issue to hostility against the Kurds and Kurdistan ."

The statement noted that the leadership of the protection of the president carried out quickly the order of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to hand over the accused to the concerned authorities, expressing his hope that investigation would be fair and held accountable against the offender and clarify all the circumstances of the crime .

A security source has revealed , in an interview with " Shafaq News " , on Saturday , that the Director of the Office of Free Iraq Radio , Mohammed Bedaiwi has been shot dead by an element in the protection in the checkpoint of the presidential compound in Jadriya .

He added that an investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the incident .

Bedaiwi is a university professor working as director of the Office of Free Iraq Radio, which broadcasts from the Czech capital of Prague since the past two years.
