Russia to resume its oil and gas business in Iraq

Shafaq News / The Russian ambassador to Iraq, Maxim Maximov, confirmed that Russian oil companies are working  effectively to resuming their work and entering the Iraqi oil and gas market.

 

 Today, Thursday, Maxim Maximov said that Russian oil companies such as Zarubezhneft; Tatneft; Neftegaz and others are taking forward steps to enter the Iraqi oil and gas market.

 He added that the "Lukoil" company is carrying out active geological exploration work in the "Block - 10" field, which, according to initial estimates, is one of the largest fields that have been explored in Iraq during the past twenty years.

 

 He stressed that, despite the drop in oil prices and the covid-19 pandemic, companies such as Gazprom; Rosneft and others continue to participate in the implementation of oil and gas production projects.

 

 He also explained that the Russian oil companies are also laying out plans to develop a long term cooperation with Iraq.
