Fire shuts down unit at Iraq’s Nasiriyah power plant

A fire broke out at the Nasiriyah Thermal Power Plant overnight Tuesday, prompting firefighters to respond to the site, a local source told Shafaq News.
The fire forced the temporary shutdown of the plant’s third generating unit at the plant, with no casualties reported, the General Company for Electric Energy Production / Southern said.
The reason behind the fire remains unknown.
