Iranian citizens residing in Iraq can participate in the presidential elections, Masjedi says

Shafaq News/ The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, said in a statement reported by IRNA that coordination is underway to facilitate the participation of Iranian citizens residing in Iraq in the presidential elections of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He added that the ballot boxes will be placed inside the headquarters of the Iranian embassy in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, noting that five other boxes will available at the Iranian general consulates in Najaf, Karbala, Basra, Erbil, and al-Sulaymaniyah.

The Presidential elections will be held on June 18.

The Iranian embassy in Iraq, along with its general consulates in five other Iraqi cities, confirmed its readiness to receive Iranian citizens wishing to participate in the elections.
