Kurdistan Ministry of interior marks the expansion of a "strange phenomenon" and takes measures to limit it

Shafaq News / The Minister of Interior of Kurdistan Region, Reber Ahmed reported on Tuesday the expansion of the phenomenon of gambling in the region, describing this phenomenon at the same time as "strange" to Kurdistan society.

Ahmed said in a statement he made to reporters today on the sidelines of his visit to Dohuk Governorate, that this phenomenon has increased recently not only in Dohuk Governorate, but also in Kurdistan Region in general, adding that this is a "weird" phenomenon and it must be organized and define the issue of what is gambling and what is not likewise and which one gets a permission or does not.

He added that legal measures have been taken in Erbil and Duhok regarding this phenomenon, saying: that this phenomenon (i.e. gambling) is strange to Kurdistan society and we are working to control and end it.
