Barzani: We have historical ties with America

The U.S. President's envoy special representative for the global coalition to defeat Islamic State, James Jeffrey expressed his pride with the sacrifices of the Kurds in facing ISIS organization.

The President of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani held a press conference in Erbil with the American President's envoy for coalition affairs against ISIS and the Syrian file, in which he held a meeting, in which Barzani said, "We have historical relations with the United States of America."

For his part, James Jeffrey said, "I am happy with the meeting that I held with my friends in Iraqi Kurdistan, and we feel proud with the sacrifices they made in facing ISIS, and we hope to continue coordination and joint cooperation not only within Iraq but in the whole region."

On the recent attacks by ISIS, Jeffrey explained, "In our meeting with military leaders in attendance, we discussed our cooperation in the war against and perpetuation of ISIS."
