Shafaq News/ A Kurdish official said that a disguised agent who is a Kurd from Syria was able to obtain two pieces of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's clothes  to check the DNA of the extremist leader before the U.S. operation that led to his death.

Polat Can, a senior adviser to the Syrian Democratic Forces, posted on his Twitter account Monday evening details of the intelligence work that led to the U.S. operation in which the leader of ISIS was killed.

"Since May 15, we have been working with the CIA to track al-Baghdadi and monitor him closely," he said "Al-Baghdadi has changed his place several times," he said, revealing that the private source who was able to approach al-Baghdadi and brought his underwear to conduct a DNA test on them and make 100 percent that the concerned person is Baghdadi himself.".

He also revealed that "the private source who was able to approach Baghdadi brought underwear to Baghdadi, to conduct a DNA test on them and make 100 percent that the person concerned is Baghdadi himself."

He noted that the U.S. operation that killed al-Baghdadi in Idlib was largely the result of the efforts of the SDF's intelligence services, although Turkey's October 9 operation against the Kurds delayed its implementation. He added "Our client participated in sending coordinates and directing the airdrop and contributed to the success of the process until the last minute."

The U.S. president thanked the Syrian Kurdish forces, saying, "We thank them for the specific support they were able to provide us," without giving details. Trump said that the DNA testing confirmed Baghdadi's identity on the ground.

He also thanked the countries of Iraq, Syria, Russia and Turkey for their cooperation.

The Pentagon announced Monday that Baghdadi's body had been disposed of at sea.
