A block suggests the lowest monthly pension in Kurdistan Region within a legal framework
Shafaq News / Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc suggested on Saturday that the lowest salary for retirees would be 400,000 Iraqi dinars per month.
"The pensioner in the region should not receive less than 400,000 Iraqi dinars," said the head of the bloc, Sherko Jawdat in a press conference held after a session held by the region’s parliament today to discuss the salary reform law, adding that “The unified Iraqi retirement law set the lowest 500,000 dinars as the lowest pension in the country.”
He called for the necessity of unifying the salary system in Kurdistan Region, including private and higher grades, suggesting that the region's government allocate a portion of the money it recovers in the event of reforming the law, which estimated at 100 billion dinars to find opportunities for the unemployed people.
A parliamentary source had said earlier today that the Parliament of Kurdistan Region granted the reform bill an urgent characteristic of its legislation before the legislative holiday comes.
Last week, Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers sent a draft reform law to Kurdistan Parliament, including the views of the Kurdish blocs on the legal draft.
