Nujaifi: Militias changed the map of Baghdad and targeted Sunnis

There were acts of violence carried a sectarian character and the displacement of the population in several areas of Baghdad since 2007, coinciding with the intensification of hard-line Sunni Islamist attacks across Iraq .

A statement from the coalition received by "Shafaq News", mentioned that Nujaifi warned during a meeting yesterday , clerics from the difficult phase experienced by Iraq .

" What is happening today is a serious matter that require standing against it, there is a scheme to hit the Sunnis in order to keep them away from participating in the elections , as well as the desire to achieve demographic change in their areas , this scheme is implemented by sectarian militias with the help of security services, which is supposed to be working according to the law of protecting the citizen , whatever his nationality or sect . "

Nujaifi , the Parliament Speaker noted to the changes in the map of Baghdad " There are areas that have been displaced fully, and when a truce took place ,the original people have no longer returned to their homes , especially from the Sunni component ."

" We respect others and we have no problem with our brothers of the component Shiite , we have to stand against those who want to take advantage of some security agencies, and thus serve Iraq “.

"We do not want to repeat the experience of Syria and we don’t want Iraq to be the arena of international conflicts , and for the Iraqi citizen to be its fuel , we have to work in order to spare Iraq from repeating what is happening in the Syrian scene ,” Nujaifi added.
