 Maliki’s coalition calls Saudi Arabia to improve relations

The relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia have faced big problems for years as observers attributed the failure of politicians to reach appropriate treatments for these problems and open a new page in their relations.

The member of the coalition, Abbas al-Bayati told “Shafaq News " , that “ we have sent envoys earlier to Saudi Arabia, but with no response , we hope that this would re- evaluate Saudi Arabia foreign policy and open with Arab state of Iraq."

Al-Bayati, who is close to the leader of the coalition, Nuri al-Maliki said that" the rapprochement between Tehran and Riyadh will reflect positively on the set of files in the region, including the Iraqi issue ."

Answering a question about whether Iran will work on mediation between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the future , Bayati said , " We do not want mediation with Saudi Arabia, but direct dialogue without any interference and this is our goal for a long time but Riyadh is still hesitating."

Iraqi officials , led by Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki accused always Saudi Arabia of destabilizing Iraq by supporting armed organizations financially and politically and in the media . But Riyadh denies this .
