Chalabi nominates Barzani for Iraq’s presidency

Chalabi said during a televised interview with al-Mayadeen Channel close to Hezbollah Lebanese movement , briefed by "Shafaq News", that “ the security situation in Iraq is not stable , that there is a war in the country , and the economic and financial situation is not good , declaring that he would nominate the President of Kurdistan Region , Massoud Barzani to be the president of Iraq .

Chalabi supported the existence of a majority government with a strong opposition , expressing his opposition to the formation of a coalition government , citing the prospect of covering up cases of corruption that may occur in the event of the formation of such a government.

He stressed that his party enters the next elections in alliance with the Islamic Supreme Council led by Ammar al-Hakim within Mwaten, " citizen" bloc, referring to the alliance 's quest to expand to include other communities of the Iraqi people .

Chalabi is considered of the political controversial figures as a result of his diverse alliances, which began with the pursuit of the United States and the international coalition to topple the government of the former regime , and then his establishment for the Shia house after the fall of the regime in 2003 in collaboration with several Shiite parties participating in the harmonic government then disagreeing with the current prime minister , Nuri al-Maliki and finally joining Mwaten bloc , led by the President of the Islamic Supreme Council ,Ammar al-Hakim to contest the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on the thirtieth of current April.
