Thwarting an ISIS attack against the security forces in Anbar
Shafaq News / On Saturday, Nasser Al-Ghannam, commander of Anbar Operations, stated that a force of Anbar operations had destroyed a car bomb belonging to ISIS.
Al-Ghannam said in a statement, received by Shafaq News Agency that "a force from the 53rd Brigade, Division 1 destroyed a car bomb of ISIS that was prepared to target the security forces."
The Anbar had recently witnessed some activity of the terrorist organization; at the end of last August, the PMF reported that three of its fighters were wounded in an attack by ISIS militants.
The PMF said in a statement received at the time by Shafaq News agency that the 18th Brigade of Al-Hashd responded to an attack by ISIS on Akashat - Al-Qaim road, west of Anbar, indicating that "three fighters were injured as a result of the exposure, while the terrorists fled."
