Iraq draws lessons from Lebanon
Shafaq News / On Saturday, the Iraqi government customs authority issued a statement regarding containers carrying chemical materials, calling on their owners to receive them within a maximum two days.
In the statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the authority called on the owners of containers that contain chemical materials in the air, sea and land ports, which belong to the public and private sectors, to deliver their goods from customs within two days, starting tomorrow, Sunday.
It added that the customs will "take legal measures against the owners of these containers and confiscate all the goods if they do not review them within the specified period."
This mainstream came after the huge explosion at Beirut Port, which resulted in dozens of dead and thousands of wounded, as well as dozens of missing persons.
According to preliminary investigations, the explosion occurred as a result of fire reaching thousands of tons of high explosive ammonium nitrate, stored for years in one of the warehouses wards.
