Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday congratulated Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi after Parliament approved the new Iraqi government.
Araghchi also welcomed the reappointment of Fuad Hussein as Iraq’s foreign minister, stressing that strengthening “friendly and brotherly relations” between Tehran and Baghdad would remain a key priority in Iran’s foreign policy.

Earlier in the day, Iraq’s Parliament endorsed Al-Zaidi’s cabinet and ministerial program, granting confidence to 14 ministers while delaying votes on six portfolios, including higher education and interior, following objections to several nominees.
