Denmark to open an embassy in Baghdad this fall
Shafaq News / Denmark said on Thursday that it intends to open an embassy in Baghdad this fall as part of its efforts to help fighting ISIS and contribute to stabilizing the situation in both Iraq and Syria.
"Through our commitment, we are helping to ensure that ISIS does not return to the region, and thus is not allowed to threaten Europe and Denmark," Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofud said in a statement.
He added that Denmark would use its diplomatic representation to strengthen dialogue with Iraq in areas such as immigration and combating terrorism.
Denmark will assume the leadership of the NATO to train Iraqi security forces from Canada by the end of 2020.
