After a four hours delay, Al-Halbousi opens the session
Shafaq News / The Iraqi Council of Representatives began its session on resolving disputes over electoral districts in the new election law.
The session was delayed for four hours due to the lack of a quorum due to the exacerbation of disagreements between the political blocs regarding the electoral districts.
According to Shafaq News Agency reporter, Parliament Speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, opened the session in the presence of 179 MP.
Two parliamentary sources had previously informed Shafaq News Agency of the possibility of postponing the session due to differences that still prevail over the topic of the session.
Today’s session is scheduled to settle disputes over electoral districts, in preparation for passing the law on which the bets of holding early parliamentary elections, next June, rely.
