Shafaq News/ Kurdistan's Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, expressed gratitude to those who decried the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) attack on the capital of the Region, Erbil, and demanded them to take a stance against such deeds.
PM Barzani tweeted on Saturday, "Thank you to those who have condemned the alarming drone attack on Erbil. But this is not enough: there must be a response to this act of aggression."
"These continued terror attacks by outlaws question the federal government's power and credibility and threaten Iraq's security," he added.
In the same context, the Governor of Erbil pilloried the UAV attacks waged against the capital of the Region, assuring the citizens that security and stability are maintained by the security forces.
In a statement issued earlier on Saturday, Governor Omed Khoshnaw said an attack by three UAVs took place this morning in the Gardens area in Erbil, two of which exploded, without causing any casualties.
"Aside from condemning this attack, we assure our people that thanks to the efforts of security forces, Asayish, and the police, the city is protected," he added, "those terrorist and subversive deeds will not tamper with the safety, security, stability of our city."
Earlier on Saturday, two UAVs stroke the residence of a citizen in the outskirts of a village in Erbil without causing casualties.
Religious slogans usually used by Iraqi Shiite armed factions were written on the UAVs.
