Shafaq News / Dr. Jamal Ahmed Rashid Governmental Hospital for Children in Al-Sulaymaniyah announced, on Thursday, that it is no longer admitting patients as the staff declared a strike for not receiving their dues.
This comes after the head of Al-Sulaymaniyah Health directorate, announced in a press conference that the directorate is facing difficulties due to the delay in receiving salaries.
For his part, Yad Naqshbandi, a spokesman for Al-Sulaymaniyah Health directorate, warned in an interview with Shafaq News agency, from a health disaster, noting that he does not rule out staging demonstrations by the healthcare personnel in the governorate.
Al-Sulaymaniyah, among other cities in Kurdistan Region, has recently witnessed protests against the delay in releasing the salaries and wage deductions.
It is noteworthy that Kurdistan Regional Government accused the federal government of delaying sending salaries to those who deserve it in the region.
