Shafaq News / the Governor of Erbil, Firsat Sofi, announced on Wednesday that the Republic of Armenia will soon open a consulate in the capital of Kurdistan Region, expressing his readiness to provide all assistance and facilities to open it.
This came during his meeting with the Armenian ambassador to Iraq, Hrachya Poladian, today, according to the province's media department.
The governor emphasized the importance of developing the historical and friendly relations between Yerevan and Erbil, in the fields of trade, industry and tourism.
It is noteworthy that Erbil governorate hosts more than 20 consulates of different countries, in addition to 6 honorary consulates.
