Shafaq News/ The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, will start a two-day visit to Kuwait on Saturday before heading to Iraq as part of a wider tour in the region.
The tour, which previously took the top Spanish diplomat to Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar, aims to "bolster" Madrid's relations with Gulf Arab states, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
In the first visit by a Spanish minister to Kuwait in many years, the talks on April 10-11 will run the gamut from economic and political cooperation to bilateral commercial ties, in addition to current developments around the region.
Minister Laya will travel to Iraq for talks with the political elite, aiming to push economic and trade relations towards more progress, it added.
Spain's top diplomat is also scheduled to visit Kurdistan, where she will convene with President, Nechirvan Barzani, to discuss reconstruction endeavors in the capital Erbil and the humanitarian situation in the Region.
