Iraq qualified for the intercontinental playoff of the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday after winning the second leg of the Asian playoff 2–1.
The victory came against the United Arab Emirates, who had drawn 1–1 with Iraq in the first leg. The Iraqi national team will now await the November 20 draw to learn its next opponents.
