Iraqi customs authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle $83,000 into the country through Baghdad International Airport on Sunday, the General Authority of Customs reported.
Officers discovered the undeclared cash hidden in the luggage of an Iraqi passenger arriving from Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. The passenger faces legal action, while authorities seized the funds.
