Germany bans Hezbollah, conducts multiple anti-terrorist raids
Shafaq News / The German Interior Ministry said on Thursday that Germany had banned Iranian-backed Hezbollah guerrillas on its soil and labeling it as a terrorist organization.
The police carried out raids early hours of the morning in Germany to arrest suspected of being members of the group. Security officials believe that up to 1050 people in Germany are members of a radical wing of Hezbollah.
"The Interior Minister Horst Seehofer banned the Shiite terrorist organization Hezbollah in Germany," a ministry spokesman said in a Tweet.
Germany previously separated the group's political arm and its military units fighting alongside the army of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
