Bahrain thwarts a "terrorist" attack
Shafaq News / Bahrain announced today, Sunday that it has thwarted a "terrorist" plan supporting and funding from members of the Revolutionary Guard in Iran.
The Bahraini newspaper Alayam said, "Investigation operations revealed that terrorist members in Iran had begun to form a new terrorist organization named "Qassem Soleimani Brigades."
The newspaper stated that "the terrorist organization has planned to blow up several public and security facilities in Bahrain, in addition to monitoring a number of private guards of important figures in the Kingdom to assassinate them, in response to the killing of Qassem Soleimani."
The Bahraini security services thwarted the plan after finding an explosive device on the public street in Al-Badie area placed by the organization’s members that was intended to target a foreign delegation who came to Bahrain on an official visit.
" One of the accused was also seized in his residence in the Saar area and found in his home materials for making explosives and books related to terrorist ideology", According to the newspaper.
Security investigations revealed that some terrorist leaders affiliated with the "Al-Ashtar Brigades ", a Shiite militant group in Bahrain were able to recruit Bahraini members with the support and supervision of the Revolutionary Guards.
The newspaper said that 18 members underwent military training in foreign camps.
One of the defendants admitted to receiving military training in Kata'ib Hezbollah's camps in Iraq, and after his return, he trained some of the defendants on using weapons in the Saar region.
