Armed attacks kill two in Basra and Maysan

Gunmen traveling in a vehicle killed a resident in central Basra on Friday, a security source told Shafaq News.
Another man shot dead a retired police officer in the al-Aitha area of al-Maymouna district in Maysan province, another security source said. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim's cousins carried out the attack.
Authorities transferred the bodies to the forensic medicine department and opened investigations to determine the circumstances of the incidents.
