Saudi child recruiter for Daesh killed in Iraq: Report
The Almasalah news website reported the development on Monday, citing a local source in Nineveh Province, where Mosul is the capital.
The source, who was speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Saudi Daesh operative killed was nicknamed “Abu Wathbah al-Saudi.” The source said he was killed by unknown gunmen as he was leaving a shop in the city center.
The source added that most of the terror group’s commanders are these days being targeted by unidentified armed men as the Iraqi army has been entering the province. He did not elaborate.
The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by gruesome violence ever since Daesh terrorists mounted a large-scale offensive in June 2014.
Iraqi army units and volunteer forces known as Popular Mobilization Units have been fighting the terrorists.
The group also has a presence in neighboring Syria, where Syrian government forces are pushing it out of much of the areas it has overrun.
