Shafaq News / Sabah Ahmed, a soldier in the 15th Iraqi Army Division, enjoyed the happiest moment of his life that he will never forget.

Sabah, in his fourth decade, celebrated his wedding in Mosul in happiness and joy shared with his fellow soldiers as well as his commander.

His marriage was so far-fetched as a result of his difficult financial circumstances. However, a humanitarian initiative by his commander, Lt. Col. Bilal, was enough to change Sabah's life forever.

Lt. Col. Bilal told Shafaq News agency that he listened to Sabah's story, and pledged to secure the costs of his wedding, that took place on Thursday, "Sabah's mental state was very bad due to his difficult living conditions, but now he has a new hope".

One of the soldiers offered to hold Sabah's wedding at his home in Mosul.

The ceremony was held in Al-Tayaran neighborhood on the right side of Mosul. Although it seemed modest, many of his neighbors participated in bringing happiness to Sabah's heart.

Sabah said he had brothers in arms and life, referring to his fellow soldiers and officers in charge, "They had done something that made me hope and feel alive again. I can only thank my commander Lt. Col. Bilal, and all the officers and soldiers who shared this joy with me".

Lt. Col. Bilal said that he planned this several months ago, found Sabah's soulmate, took several officers to ask for the girl's hand from her father's house in Makhmour district and began preparing everything Sabah needed. Also, the 15th Infantry Division commander contributed to the price of gold for Sabah's bride.
