Three doctors contracted Covid-19 in Kirkuk and warnings of losing control over the pandemic
Shafaq News / A source in Kirkuk Crisis Cell revealed today, Wednesday, the spread of Covid-19 among a group of doctors in the governorate, amid warnings of losing control over the pandemic.
The source told Shafaq News agency that, "after confirming the diagnosis of patient suspected to be infected with Covid-19, the count of the active cases doubled, due to noncompliance to the preventive measures," especially in, "crowded shops and places".
"a group of doctors was confirmed to be positive to Covid-19, while pursuing their duty", explaining that, "three doctors in Kirkuk governorate were confirmed infected", indicating that, "tomorrow, all doctors will be examined". The statement warned that, "Kirkuk will be out of control, as the pandemic has spread in the city".
The count of Covid-19 cases in Iraq has increased drastically in the past few days, raising fears of the growing pandemic. The representative of the World Health Organization in Iraq, Adham Ismail, said a few days ago that some Iraqis still deny the existence of the pandemic, which is causing the surge in the caseload.
