Shafaq News / On Monday, the Kurdish Ministry of Interior denied handing over the niece of the Syrian Kurdish politician Salih Muslim who had been listed by Ankara on the terrorist list to the Turkish security forces.
“After the allegations that accused the Kurdistan Region of extraditing a girl named Dalia Mahmoud Muslim to Turkey, we see it necessary to make clear to the public that these allegations are unfounded, and it is only an attempt to mislead the facts”, Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
"Dalia Mahmoud Muslim, known as (Vian Sharfan), had abandoned the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), then she has joined a fighter from Batlis, in the Turkish side of Kurdistan, called Salam Ramadan Muhammad known as (Toledan). This man has left the YPG (YPG), and they had an affair before they decided to escape together", the ministry added.
"On 9th of July 2020, Salam Ramadan returned to Turkey voluntarily. After that, on 14th of July 2020, Dalia Mahmoud Saleh decided to join him and enter Turkey by smuggling. Then she surrendered to the Turkish police in the city of Batlis. On this basis, the Kurdistan Region has nothing to do with this matter in any way", the same statement mentioned.
Moreover, the Ministry of Interior added: "The PKK media and its ilk had better to ask itself about the reasons why people abandon the party’s ranks, instead of accusing people unfairly. These people are ready to put their lives at risk, by crossing the borders through smuggling methods and in order to run from the PKK threats".
"The concerned authorities in the region are fully prepared to investigate this matter. The Kurdistan Region will remain a safe haven for all who seek security. This misleading attempt will not affect its established positions in this regard," the Kurdistan Ministry of Interior said.
Earlier, Turkish had announced, that Dalia Mahmoud Muslim (21 years) surrendered to the Security Forces Command in Mersin province, in south of the country on 15th of July; "after the security teams had persuaded her of the need to surrender."
The Anadolu agency reported that during the investigation, the woman was considered to be the niece of Saleh Muslim, who heads the Democratic Union Party. A personal bodyguard for the alleged Gulten Altach, known as Asmaa Samur. The woman is listed on the list of Turkish terrorism required by the country's security authorities.
According to Anadolu Agency sources, Dalia also admitted that her father, Mahmoud Saleh, takes a position in the “BD / YKK” organization (a term used by Turkey to refer to the Syrian Democratic Forces) in the border city of Kobani, Ayn al-Arab.
In February 2018, the Turkish judiciary issued an arrest warrant for Saleh Muslim, accusing him of involvement in terrorist acts in Turkey.
The Turkish Interior has included Muslim in the red list of wanted terrorists and offered a reward of four million turkish pounds (about 583 thousand dollars) to anyone who helps in arresting the Kurdish politician.
