Shafaq News / A member of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Imad Bajlan revealed on Wednesday, the fact that his party decided its position on the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, and tomorrow's session, Thursday, to give confidence to the new government.

Bajlan told Shafaq News, that "KDP has not decided until now its position from the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, or from tomorrow's session Thursday, as the dialogues are still ongoing."

He explained that "the picture will become more clear, and the position of KDP will be made clear publicly from Allawi’s government, this position depends on dialogues and negotiations this evening."

Allawi is expected to submit his government tomorrow to parliament for vote, as Allawi, the former Minister of Communications has the support of Shiite forces headed by all of the Sadrist movement, led by Muqtada al-Sadr and "Al-Fatah" coalition, led by Hadi al-Amiri.

But he faces protests from prominent Kurdish and Sunni political forces, who refuse to choose ministers without consulting them.

He also faces opposition from the popular movement, which demands an independent prime minister, who has not previously held official positions, and is far from subordination to parties and abroad, especially Iran, which has had close ties with the Shiite forces ruling in Baghdad since 2003.

The next government will succeed the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, who resigned on December 1, under pressure from unprecedented popular protests that have continued since the beginning of last October.

The protesters insist that the entire political class, which they accuse of corruption and waste of state money, that has been in power since the toppling of Saddam Hussein's regime in 2003, must be gone.
