KDP responds to involve the name of Peshmerga in the protests in Iraq
Shafaq News/ The political bureau of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) considered on Monday involving the name of Peshmerga forces in the incidents that accompanied the demonstrations in the capital Baghdad and a number of central and southern provinces an attempt to threaten the social peace in the country.
"Some of the Iraqi people are exercising a right within the constitution by demonstrating and demanding rights within the identity of a citizen that elevates the Iraqi reality for the better," the office said in a statement.
The statement added, "We in KDP salute all peaceful popular efforts in all sectors that meet in the demonstration squares, we would like to draw the attention of the brothers who have this constitutional right to be careful from the misguided target to promote poisonous rumors in order to threaten social peace and the safety of the homeland by involving the name of your brothers from Peshmerga of being responsible for the incidents that accompanied the demonstrations. "
" Peshmerga with its long national history, has been a shield for all Iraqis, their protection and all the fulfillment of the righteous martyrs, so that the Iraqi people remain at the forefront of the people in freedom and progress. They are part of the defense system and are brothers to you. Peshmarga’s name is far of being tarnished with something that doesn’t satisfy the conscience and the homeland.
"The enemies of the national cohesion are trying to throw false accusations to divert the course of events in a way that meets suspicious interests,” the statement added.
