Barzani reiterates of Kurdistan region’s position towards the events in Iraq and the region

Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani reiterated on Tuesday that the presidency will continue its efforts to unify the ranks and cohesion in Kurdistan Region and achieve unity of position among the parties and components to face the developments and events in Iraq and the region.

Barzani said during a meeting with Salahalddin Mohammed Bahauddin, Secretary-General of the Islamic Union of Kurdistan and a number of leaders of the Islamic Union that the presidency of the region "will devote all its potential to the success of forming an alliance of Kurdish blocs in the Iraqi Parliament."

A statement issued by the Presidency said that "during the meeting the ,latest developments were discussed on the Iraqi arena , demonstrations in Baghdad and other provinces in the country, and their effects and implications on Kurdistan region, also stressed the importance of cohesion and unity of the Kurdish parties in Baghdad, the internal situation of Kurdistan region , events and developments in the region in general." .

The Secretary General of the Islamic Union of Kurdistan valued Barzani’s efforts and steps of the presidency of Kurdistan Region in order to achieve cohesion and unity and joint action among the Kurdish parties, expressing his support for Kurdistan Islamic Union for these endeavors and steps, according to the statement.
