UAE denounces drone crash near its consulate in Erbil

On Monday, the United Arab Emirates condemned the crash of an explosive-laden drone near its consulate in the Kurdistan Region, describing the incident as a threat to diplomatic missions.
In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry noted that the incident caused material damage but no injuries. It called on the Iraqi government and the Kurdish government to investigate the circumstances of the attack, identify those responsible, and hold them accountable.

Earlier on Monday night, the Region’s Counter-Terrorism Service announced that three drones had been intercepted over Erbil, adding that the wreckage of one fell near the UAE consulate.
