Trade convoys head to Kurdistan
Shafaq News / A local official in Diyala said today that the rates of trade exchange have decreased in Mandali and Khanaqin ports, east of the governorate.
The director of the Mandali port, Mazen Al-Khuzai Agency, told Shafaq News agency, "The procedures and strict controls have pushed trade convoys to go towards the region's outlets, especially “Pervez Khan “because of the customs facilitations there.
The Iraqi government has closed the Mandali port since last March, after the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic and the procedures of the Supreme Committee for National Safety, and decided to partially reopen it early last July.
The semi-official statistics confirm that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Iran through the border crossings exceeds $ 12 billion annually.
The trade crossings between Iran and Iraq are 9, the most important of which are Shalamja crossing in Basra governorate, Zurbatiya in Al Cut governorate, and Al Munthiriya in Khanaqin district in Diyala, Parwiz khan in Garmyan administration in Al-Sulaymaniyah, and others.
