Kurdistan to establish a special directorate for customs control
Shafaq News / The Minister of Finance and Economy in Kurdistan Regional Government, Awat Sheikh Janab, decided to establish a special directorate for customs control.
This step comes within the framework of achieving further reform in the ports and border crossings, and increasing the percentage of transparency in customs work.
The region has five main border crossings. Ibrahim Khalil is considered the main border crossing (with Turkey) that allows providing Kurdistan Region with the majority of its needs, while Fishkhabour, in the west of Duhok governorate, connects Iraq with Syria. Additionally, Haji Omran, Bashmakh and Parviz Khan connect the region with Iran.
