Kurdistan starts implementing 14.7 Million US Dollars electricity projects

Shafaq News / The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Region announced on Tuesday launching three electricity projects to increase the level of energy supply in Erbil Governorate.

Electricity Minister Kamal Muhammad said in a speech, "There will be several stages, including the construction of a station with a capacity of 132 Kv by a Turkish company.

He explained that these projects are the first of their kind at the level of the Kurdistan Region, because its production capacity reaches 132 kV, an average of 125 MW, and will increase the production capacity of other neighboring stations to 250 MW, indicating that the financial cost of these projects is 14.7 Million US Dollars.

For his part, the governor of Erbil, Firsat Sofi, called on the residents of the governorate to support it in providing electrical energy through rationalization of consumption.
