Kurdistan's Ministry of Agriculture to convene tomorrow with Iran and drought on the table
Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Agriculture in Kurdistan will hold an advisory meeting tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the issue of "drought" in the Region, hinting at an Iranian involvement.
The Minister of Agriculture, Begard Talabani, said in a press release today, Sunday, "the Ministry cannot announce this year as a 'drought' year without experts opinion, since rainfall differs between an area and another."
"The meeting will come up with a report that will be presented in the cabinet meeting next Thursday," she asserted, "the water level remarkably declined in Dukan and Darbandikhan dams."
The Minister continued, "we will submit a note to the Iranian consulate in the Region in this regard."
Talabani noted, "Addressing the Iranian side is a national issue. We demand the Federal Government to exert pressure on the Iranian side to avoid decreasing the Region's water input."
