Kurdistan region president congratulates Yazidis on the "Peak of Summer" festivity

Shafaq News / The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, congratulated the Yazidis, on Sunday, on the "Peak of Summer" or "Midsummer" festivity, at the 40th  day of summer.

"On the occasion of the Yazidi Midsummer celebration, I extend my warmest congratulations to our Yazidi sisters and brothers in Kurdistan and around the world, particularly the displaced Yazidis who are still residing in IDP camps. I hope this celebration brings happiness and prosperity to all the Yazidis and Kurdistan. I also hope that future celebrations are held in better circumstances", Barzani said. 

He added, " On this occasion, we remember and honor all of our Yazidi sisters and brothers who were targeted by the terrorist groups. We pay tribute to the memories of those who lost their lives and reassure the families of the abducted ones that we will continue to do our best to locate them and bring them back to their families and work to uncover the fate of the missing others".

"I wish all the Yazidis a happy celebration. Hopefully, by the next celebration, all the displaced Yazidis can safely return to their homes and their areas reconstructed", president Barzani concluded his message.
