Shafaq News / Kurdistan region Minister of Health, Saman Barzanji, warned of the "rapid dissemination" of COVID-19's new variant.
Barzanji said in a statement that the new strain is spreading rapidly, as it registered in the past few days 7.8% of the total case counts, expecting an increase in the number of cases in the near future.
He pointed out that the new variant is highly contagious, and the number of cases exceeds the number of hospital beds.
"That is why we urge the citizens to adhere to the preventive measures and avoid crowded places," Barzanji concluded.
