Iran closes 28 publications in Kurdistan province

Shafaq News / The head of the Magazines Syndicate in the Kurdistan province, northwestern Iran, Farid Samawati, announced that 28 magazines and newspapers have been banned in the province.

Samawati said that the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance prevented newspapers and magazines to be issued in Kurdistan province.

These publications usually issued as follows:

One daily, five weekly, three bi-monthly, ten monthly, one every two months, eight quarterly.

He pointed out that two of the magazines belonging to the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences.

Samawati did not give any further information.
