COVID-19: 21 fatalities and 574 new cases in Kurdistan today
Shafaq News / The Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Saman Al-Barzanji, announced on Sunday that 21 fatalities and 574 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the past 24 hours.
The minister said in a press conference held today in Erbil, that the highest number of cases was registered in Duhok Governorate, indicating that the virus is widespread in the governorate.
He added that 121 new cases were mainly registered in Erbil, Al-Sulaymaniyah, Garmyan, and Halabja.
Al-Barzanji pointed out that 299 patients achieved full recovery and were distributed among the governorates as follows: Erbil 221, Al-Sulaymaniyah 27, Garmyan 26, Halabja 25.
21 mortalities were registered and distributed as follows: 7 Erbil, 10 Al-Sulaymaniyah, 1 Raperin, 2 Duhok, 1 Halabja.
The total number of positive cases rose to 32210, 20492 of them achieved full recovery, while 10511 patients are still receiving the necessary medical treatment. The deaths toll stood at 1207, since the outbreak of the virus.
