A delegation from Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration to visit Paris
Shafaq News / A delegation from the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration in northeastern Syria is preparing to fly to Paris after receiving an official invitation from the French President Emmanuel Macron.
An official source told Shafaq News Agency that the delegation includes representatives and politicians of the Autonomous Administration regions.
The source emphasized that "representatives of the French government held meetings with political parties and representatives in the Autonomous Administration region in preparation for the delegation's visit to France."
A source from the Kurdish National Council told Shafaq News Agency that "the council has not yet agreed to participate in the visit to France."
"Currently there are calls between the Kurdish National Council and the French officials…our demand is that the delegation should represent all political parties and components of the region without anyone’s dominance."
In March 2018, French President Emmanuel Macron received in Paris a delegation from the Autonomous Administration, the Syrian Democratic Council and the Syrian Democratic Forces where he affirmed France’s support for the Kurdish forces. He also praised their role in combating ISIS.
At the time, Turkey condemned the French President for receiving the delegation.
