26  new Covid-19 confirmed cases in Erbil, one death in Sulaimaniyah

Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Wednesday that it has recorded 26 new cases of Covid-19 in Erbil governorate.

“Infected people, include one child and the rest are all men, pointing out that 12 of the active cases had contact with previous patients and four others showed symptoms of the virus,” the ministry said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.

The statement added that the patients are residents of Koy Sanjaq district, specifically "Chwarchera , Al-Etehadi, Kakun, Bazaga, Raperin and Dildar neighborhoods ".

While in Sulaimaniyah, a source in the Health Directorate Department reported the death of another man in his 60s as a result of being infected with Covid-19.

The source, who asked for anonymity told Shafaq News Agency that the "ASO" hospital had registered a new death for a person infected with the virus.

This brings the death toll from the virus to 26 in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, out of 29 deaths recorded throughout the region.

The health authorities have also announced that the total data of Covid-19 infections has risen to 1466, and deaths to 28 cases in Kurdistan.
