Washington welcomes al-Maliki - Barzani meeting

Barzani arrived on Wednesday morning, with his accompanying delegation to Baghdad and met with al-Maliki , as the two sides agreed to form technical committees to resolve disputes on Kurdish oil exports to Turkey and the file of the country's federal budget for next year .

The agreement came within the framework of a meeting between the two sides to discuss finding a way out of the problems that followed the conclusion of an agreement with Turkey on Kurdish oil .

The U.S. State of Department said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News " that “it strongly supports the efforts of all parties to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement to increase oil export revenues and a fair share for all Iraqis in accordance with the Iraqi constitution .

It described the meeting between Maliki and Barzani as a " positive step forward" , calling on all parties to " continue their active participation to promote prosperity among all Iraqis in a way that promotes a federal , stabile and unified Iraq ."

The statement also welcomed the visit of the Jordanian delegation headed by Prime Minister , Abdullah al-Nusour to Baghdad to discuss cooperation in the areas of security, energy , trade, especially with regard to pipeline projects and joint railway between Iraq and Jordan .

The statement expressed the readiness of the United States to be a " steady partner for Iraq and Jordan" in helping to achieve further progress of mutual interests in the next weeks and months.

Al-Nusour arrived in Baghdad yesterday , accompanied by a delegation of ministers , security officials and economists , in a visit that lasted for one day.
