The National Security Council holds an emergency session and sends a message to the media
Shafaq News/The National Security Council held an emergency session on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces ,Adel Abdul Mahdi to discuss the events that accompanied the demonstrations on Tuesday and the casualties among citizens and members of the security forces.
The Council affirmed in a statement received by Shafaq News " the freedom of demonstration , expression and the legitimate demands of the demonstrators, while at the same time deplores the acts of sabotage that accompanied it."
The statement also stressed that "appropriate measures should be taken to protect citizens and public and private property, as well as defining the responsibility areas for the security forces and make all government efforts to meet the legitimate requirements of the demonstrators."
The Council also stressed the importance of the media role in raising awareness and the importance of maintaining security and stability of the country, through government media, the Iraqi media network and national media by highlighting the efforts and achievements of the government in all fields and to detect violations and any attack , burning or looting of public and private property. And targeting security forces that perform their duty to protect the demonstrators by various means. "
