The first Iraqi province closes all religious sites due to Corona
Shafaq News / The governor of Babil, Hassan al-Mandeel ordered on Sunday, to close all religious shrines in the province in front of visitors until further notice, for fear of an outbreak of Corona virus.
"The governor, Hasan Al-Mandeel has directed the closure of religious shrines in front of visitors coming to the province from all Iraqi cities," the media office of the Governor of Babylon said in a statement, explaining that "the measure came to preserve the safety of citizens, and as a precautionary measure to prevent the emerging corona virus."
Babil Province announced on Saturday, recording the first confirmed case of corona virus in the province, in addition to recording 4 other confirmed cases in Baghdad, bringing the total number recorded cases in Iraq to 13.
Bebil province includes dozens of Shiite shrines .
While Karbala and Najaf provinces closed the shrines of Imam Ali and his son, Imam Hussein and Abbas for one day for sterilization, after recording a case of an Iranian student studying Islamic science in Najaf last week.
